#NP Darwin Hobbs – We Worship You Today

For a while now, this song has been playing in my head. As simple as it is, the lyrics has a way of speaking to me.

[Verse: Solo]
In humble adoration we bow before your throne
As we come before your presence we honour you alone
So we lift up our voices as trumpets heralding you
You are the king of glory so this is what we do

[Chorus:]
We worship you today [x4]

[Ad lib:]
Father how we love you today and we worship you just because of who you are
o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-h.

[Verse: Choir (Unison)]
In humble adoration we bow before your throne
As we come before your presence we honour you alone
So we lift up our voices as trumpets heralding you
You are the king of glory so this is what we do

[verse]

[Chorus: Harmony]
We worship you today [x8]
We honour you today [x8]
We love you today [x8]
We seek your face today
We need you today
Hosanna today [x2]
We seek your face today
We need you today
Hosanna today [x2]

[chorus]

From The Experience 8.

Hey guys!

The Experience was AWESOME! I can’t believe I’ve missed 7 years of greatness. Gosh! The most painful was last year when Deitrick Haddon came. Still haven’t gotten over it. Half-expected to meet him there this year but I didn’t and it’s all good. I just need to add attending one of his concerts to my bucket list. But the other artistes were amazing as well. They literally brought heaven on earth.

Cece Winans – Evergreen. She oozed so much radiance and performed splendidly.
Micah Stampley – Awesomeness. His voice! Oh gawd! I can’t believe I haven’t been paying attention to him.
Midnight Crew! – Greatness! They always deliver. I danced till I had cramps.
Sammie Okposo – He delivered as well. He had me on my feet in no time.
Tye Tribett – Energy!!!! Woah! Dude was literally flying across the stage. Love his haircut tho; I remember him formerly on locs. Excellent performance!
Eben – After his first song, I felt left out. He also seems to be quite popular. Also didn’t pay so much attention to him previously. He’s good too.
Don Moen – Uber Duper Greatness. When his name was announced, there was this renewed strength that overtook me. I felt God speak directly to me though the sequence and the lyrics of his ministration. That moment was indescribable. I had no choice but to let go and let God.
Frank Edwards – I have no idea who he is. Heard his name too a few times previously. His songs seemed quite popular too like that of Eben’s. There were a couple I was familiar with that I could sing along to.

Seriously these guys are grossly underrated.

Yolanda Adams – I love the fact that I could just listen and be blessed. It was her first time and she delivered in her own way. I enjoyed it..
Donnie McCulkin – Yoooo!!!! I don’t think I can ever get tired of listening to him. He was awesome as usual!
Mike Aremu – This was the point where exhaustion took the better part of me. l could only sway along to the beats and instrumentals.
Kingsley Ike – Wow! Honestly I don’t know this guy but he is a performer!!!! At this point, the only thing on my mind was my bed. So I joined in the spirit. LOL.
Apart from the terrible discomfort caused by our sitting positions, the hunger, the various odors oozing from various bods, the annoying guys that chose to pitch their tent in front of me,my friend bailing on me, I had a swell time. I could see the stage almost conveniently and had a couple of screens to my disposal. The network was terrible, couldn’t tweet through as I’d planned. In Nigeria, crowd automatically means no network. Had goosebumps almost all through and was moved to tears especially during Don Moen’s ministration. It was a good one. I’m glad I went and even more ecstatic that I didn’t have friends accompany me. I felt I wouldn’t have connected to God like I did. The journey home was….*inserts appropriate adjective*. Anyways, I think I need some sleep.

I looking forward to #TheExperience9 next year. This time, hopefully with my DSLR. I would love to cover a bit of it.. And maybe I could start tensioning Deitrick Haddon to come, afterall he follows me.*moonwalks* ^_^.

Toddles!

#NP Nobody Greater

Gosh! i love love this song! I heard it first in church and it’s been on repeat since then! Awesome awesome song!!! And btw it’s by Vashawn Mitchell. Love his voice!

[Verse 1:]
I climbed up to the highest mountain
I looked all around, couldn’t find nobody
Went down into the deepest valley
Looked all around down there, couldn’t find nobody
I went across the deep blue sea
Couldn’t find one to compare… to your grace, your love, your mercy
Nobody greater… nobody greater than you

[Chorus]
Searched all over… couldn’t find nobody
I looked high and low… still couldn’t find nobody
Nobody greater… nobody greater no… nobody greater than you

[Verse 2:]
Nobody can heal… like you can
Oh most holy one you are the Great I Am
Awesome in all your ways and mighty is your hand
You are He who carried out redemption’s plan
You are He who carried out redemption’s plan

[Chorus: x2]
Searched all over… couldn’t find nobody
I looked high and low… still couldn’t find nobody
Nobody greater… nobody greater… nobody greater than you

Nobody greater… nobody greater… nobody greater than you [repeat, adlib and fade]

#NP Amen

I absolutely this song by Deitrick Haddon

Romans 8:18 says
“For I reckon that the
sufferings of this present time are not worthy to
be compared with the glory which shall be
revealed in us.”
I ask myself how did He do it,
make such a sacrifice, and the one’s that He
loved wanted Him crucified, and He knew that
His friends would betray Him,and He knew that
His blood would be shed, He could have put
someone else in His place but instead He said

“Amen” I surrender, Amen my will is yours,
“Amen” I lift my hands and say
“Amen”, so I looked at my test and trials they can’t compare
to his pain, and if he can go through it, surley
I can do the same.
Oh Lord, I bless you for all of the bad, and I bless you for all of the good, and the place where I stand
You have already stood,

“Amen” nevertheless
“Amen”, I don’t
understand but
“Amen”, Lord I surrender,
“Amen” my soul say
“Amen,” this is not about me Lord, but all about your will, “Amen”

‘Amen’, yeah yeah
Lord I trust you with all of my soul, my soul say
” Amen” Lord I surrender to your will, and I
surrender to your way, there is nothing else to
say but ‘Amen”
You can mold me, You can make me, You can
break me.
And when trouble comes say “Amen” and when
trouble goes say “Amen”
Lord I trust you, with all of my heart and soul.

“Amen”

#NP Create In Me A New Heart

Create in me a clean heart
And purify me, purify me
Create in me a clean heart
So I may worship Thee, everybody say it
Create in me a clean heart
And purify me, purify me
Create in me a clean heart
So I may worship Thee
Say it now, say it now
Create in me a clean heart
And purify me, purify me
Create in me a clean heart
So I may worship Thee

Cast me not away from thy presence
Please don’t take your spirit from me
And restore the joy of salvation
So that I may worship Thee

Please Lord God
Create in me a clean heart
And purify me, purify me
Create in me a clean heart
So I may worship Thee

Cast me not away from thy presence
Please don’t take your spirit from me
And restore the joy of salvation
So that I may worship Thee

Create in me a clean heart
And purify me, purify me
Create in me a clean heart
So I may worship Thee
Create in me a clean heart
And purify me, purify me

Create in me a clean heart
So I may worship Thee
So I may worship Thee
So that I may worship Thee
So that I may worship Thee
So that I may worship Thee

As simple as this song is, it carries so much weight and meaning. It’s actually a prayer you know, appealling to God to create in us a new heart. This song moves me every single time I listen to it. It has become a staple on my playlist. Oh and btw I think it’s sung by Donnie McCulkin but there are other covers. Amazing! A Must Listen!

#NP His Word

Hey guys!

This was the first song on my playlist this morning omw to work. What better way to start the month of August than with ”His Word” by Deitrick Haddon [can’t believe i underrated this song! Smh. Probably because of it’s simplicity].

When you woke up
You should have rose with a praise
No complaining
Appreciating another day
You are still alive
Someone didn’t survive
He deserves so much more than what we give
All I’m trying to say is
Let’s live this Word

I need the Word
Gotta have the Word
He is the Word
And His Word
Keeps us from day to day
Oh…
The Word is more than just letters on the page
But it’s a compass and direction
When we’ve lost our way
If we hide the Word within our hearts
We will never be the same
And then we will grow
After we have heard
We rather need the Word

I need the Word
Gotta have His Word
Christ is the Word
And His Word keeps me from day to day
Oh yea Oh
The Word

I can’t live without it
I can’t move without it
I can’t breathe without it
Your Word keeps me from day oh to day
Oh Your Word is unwavering
On it we can depend
Thy Word have I hidden in my heart
I need Your Word
I want Your Word
I need the Word yea
I gotta have it ya’ll
I can’t live without Your Word
Your Word keeps us from day to day
Oh
The Word I can’t live without it
Oh
I can’t breathe without it
Your Word oh keeps us from day to day
Oh
I need the Word
Gotta have His Word
I want Your Word
Ooh
Your Word keeps me from day to day
Oh yea
Let the Word of God
Renew you
Let the Word of God
Consume you
Let the Word of God
Restore you
Let it Break you
let it Make you.

Happy New Month Y’all!!

#NP Indescribable

Hey!

You know those times when you listen to a song for the first time and you’re wondering what planet you’ve been all the while?! Yeah that’s what happened when i listened to Kierra Sheard’s indescribable for the first time a couple of weeks ago. *sigh. This song is ALL shades of AWESOME! Gosh! I dunno. It unveils the worshipper in me. I felt the passion, vibe and energy in this song. I dunno how i always manage to hold back the tears probably because i don’t want to make a scene on my way to work. Together with Hezekiah Walker’s moving forward, they’ve been on replay for weeks now. Amean what better way to start your day than with God’s presence. Buh really, the song, the lyrics is everything. I’ve been exploring a few songs lately and this has toped the list by far. No offense #JesusCulture voltrons buh IMO so far, Kierra is IT for me! Did i mention how much i love her voice?! Amazing!

I hope this lyrics speaks to you as much as it did to me.

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creations revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming

[Chorus:]
Indescribable,
uncontainable,
You place the stars in the sky and You know them
by name,
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable, awestruck we fall to our
knees as we humbly proclaim,
You are amazing God

Who sees lightning bolts and tells them where they should go or
Sees heavenly store houses laden in snow
Who imagined the sun and gave source to it’s light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom

Incomparable,
unchangeable,
You’ve seen the depths of my heart and You love
me the same,
You are amazing God
You are amazing God
You are amazing God.

”You Laid Aside Your Majesty”

Hey!

I woke up today to the lyrics of this song and i’ve decided to share. I remember hearing this song for the very first time in my primary school. My Music Teacher then; Mr Omole taught us and throughout the 3 years i spent in that school,it was like a theme song. He tried to mix it up in different ways so it isn’t totally boring. It’s actually a slow and more of worship song (My style of music ^_^).
Buh this morning,i’m more interested in the lyrics. Funny enough, we were made to cram/memorize them and it’s been in my head ever since then. I wasn’t suprised when i remembered them.

The lyrics to me is more like a declaration. It’s gone beyond the words to a song. It carries such powerful message as brief as it is and i dunno i always have chills anytime i sing/listen/remember it. It’s by Derri Daugherty. (Had no idea until a couple of minutes ago.) and apparently has many other versions by other artistes. He/She should be the original singer. (I dunno. Didn’t have time to check it. Maybe later).

Ok so here it goes;

”You laid aside your majesty
Gave up everything for me
Suffered at the hands of those you had created
You took all my guilt and shame
When you died and rose again
Now today you reign in heaven and earth exalted
I really want to worship you my Lord
You have won my heart and i am yours
Forever and ever
I will love you
You are the only one who died for me
Gave your life to set me free
So i lift my voice to you in adoration :D”

Sounds familiar?!
LOL. I know it’s more of an ”Easter” song, nevertheless i love it :D. From time to time a sober reflection is needed to remind us of what Christ did for us on the Cross of Calvary. And i think it summarizes the Gospel of Jesus as a whole.
I hope you’re blessed.

P:S: Sorry for not posting the link for the video/audio. I am/was overwhelmed. Google is your friend. 😀

Recap!

So last month i decided i was gonna start a monthly review; you know,a sort of recap/rundown of important/not-so-important things that happened, addictions, new discoveries e.t.c.
Here are a couple of things that shaped this Febuary;
1. I got to know about a Christian band called Casting Crowns. Before you start asking where i have been all this while, i didnt really dig rock music talk less of Christian rock until very recently. My thirst for Gospel music has just increased in the past 6 months and the Holy Spirit is just leading me perfectly to what i should listen to. I got to know about this band via a twitter follower who has also become a friend @replacement2. He recommended them to me and since then, they’ve been on replay! I downloaded a couple of their hits and i’ve been blessed ever since! My faves for now are ‘Voice of Truth’, ‘East to West’, ‘Father Spirit Jesus’ and ‘Lifesong’. They are my new addiction.

2. Next is an all female Christian group called Point of Grace also recommended by @replacement2. Their voices are just heavenly!. The first song i downloaded was ‘Breath of Heaven(Mary’s song)’. Wow! Their voices take me a another realm especially their worship songs (You how how much i love to worship! :D). Anyways they’ve also been on replay and i’m really glad i got to know about them. Better late than never.

3. Just last week i stumbled on a piece on Bella Naija. It was about a Nigerian girl who has waist-length hair. Yeah! You can imagine my astonishment! 😮 You could check her up on http://lushstrands.blogspot.com. Anyways i got motivated to start a hair-growth journey. Inasmuch as i love weaves, it can’t be compared to long natural hair especially with this Nigerian weather. So i’ve decided to invest in hair products and pay more attention to my hair. Maybe just maybe my hair could get to that length 😀

My usuals are still intact i.e Coke,Twitter,Blogging even though my coke intake has reduced drastically this month. Apart from all this nothing special. You’ll agree with me when i say this month went really fast. I’m looking forward to the month of March and all the goodies that comes with it!

Till next month!

An Attitude of Worship

This morning, whilst doing the dishes i thought of how to reconstruct my Twitter Bio and something came to my mind.

I digress….

A few years ago, if you had asked me what i wanted to do with my life, i would have told you i wanted to be very successful and maybe famous. I wanted to be the next Oprah! I dreamt that BIG. I wanted to be wealthy, wear designer clothes, rock Red Carpets,go from one country to another for vacation and all that. Then last year i read a book ‘Myles Munroe’s God’s Big Idea’ and my life changed. It was an eye-opener for me. My dreams changed. (Topic for another day) This book has been in my shelf for more than a year and i didn’t know it was this powerful.

After reading God’s Big Idea, i had this sudden hunger for the things of God. I wanted to read His word more, be in His presence more, Hear more about Him and overall Worship Him more. Then I watched Deitrick Haddon’s Blessed and Cursed again and fell in love with his music. I started searching for worship songs that i could listen to. Now i’ve found Casting Crowns and Point of Grace. Amazing Bands i tell you! Now @ every point in time i wanna worship God. Maybe because i’m not much of a prayer warrior you know. I feel i can connect to God more. Worship takes me to a different realm entirely. The power of worship cannot be overemphasised. Luckily for me i attend an amazing church where Praise and Worship is an intergral part of the service.

Right now, worshipping God is my new hobby.
