Goals, Resolutions And All Other Things In Between.

Hi people!

Happy New Year!!!!!

I’m so psyched about 2014 because there’s so much I’m looking forward to! Geez! It’s gonna be a start of new things. So without much ado, I’ve decided to share some of my goals for the new year with y’all.

Be Inspired

I think the most important thing for me this year is to improve my relationship with God. Get closer to Him, study and Bible more, pray and whatnot. I also wish/hope I find a study buddy this year. Someone to follow through and put me in check. And no, I don’t want any one/group online.

Healthwise, I plan to actually start a work-out routine. I really don’t have problems with healthy eating. Junk food is a no-brainer and I can proudly say I’ve overcome my coke addiction.

School’s just gonna go on smoothly. I hope I can return to Alliance Francaise this year to bag another diploma.

My photography career/business/side hustle would also kick off in full force as soon as I get my DSLR. This year, I hope to take at least 10,000 photos, attend seminars/workshops and get as many internships as possible.

I also want to try as much as possible to acquire additional vocational skills. I hope my mother would finally accept and realise that there can never be too many MUAs in the business.

By the end of the year, I would have been 12months Post BC, 21months Post Relaxer. My hair goal is BSL or at least it should be able to be packed in a bun, healthy hair notwithstanding.

Hopefully, this year I can cross out most, if not all the things on my 21 list before my birthday.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this year I want a getaway from my house. I sort of need space and since I go to school from home, this is kind of a ”luxury”. I hope I find somewhere to elope to.

Blog-wise, I hope to be as consistent as the previous year and even better. Maybe I’ll finally get around to improving the appearance and personalising it more.

For now, I’ve decided not to visit Goodreads because I’ll probably be tempted to pick a random figure and set a reading goal. That didn’t really go well last year. So, this is me holding back until I’m sure I can lay my hands on paperbacks or hardcovers. Electronic reading isn’t really my forte……yet.

These amongst other things are my goals for 2014.

However, I’ve resolved to deal with my Social Media addiction. I think this is as a result of the fact that I have so much free time on my hands atm and suddenly movies and any other source of entertainment don’t appeal to me anymore. Well, hopefully this will change this year.

Have A Fabulous Year Ahead! I know I will.

Personal Mantras.

Hey guys! How have y’all been?! Busy i guess. Same here 🙂

Erm so today [after procastinating for a couple of days now] i’m gonna be talking about personal mantras and sharing a few that resonates with me.

Buh before that, according to Rosetta of happyblackwoman.com;
”A personal mantra is a positive phrase or affirmative statement that you say to yourself for the purpose of motivation or encouragement. This could be your favorite quote, proverb, spiritual truth or religious saying that motivates and inspires you to be your best self.

And i totally agree! My own personal mantra has always been ”Our deepest fear” by Marianne Williamson. That quote has a way of uplifting, inspiring and boosting my self-esteem anytime i read it and because of that, it has just stuck. Apart from that, there are other ones i agree with and can relate to.

“Some periods of our growth are so confusing
that we don’t even recognize that growth is
happening…Those long periods when
something inside ourselves seems to be
waiting, holding its breath, unsure about what
the next step should be, eventually become the periods we wait for, for it is in those
periods that we realize that we are being
prepared for the next phase of our life and
that, in all probability, a new level of the
personality is about to be revealed.” – Alice

“My time is limited and I will not allow the noise
of others’ opinions drown out my own inner
voice. I will have the courage to follow my
heart and intuition.” (via LaToya)

“The size of your success is measured by the
strength of your desire; the size of your dream;
and how you handle disappointment along
the way.” – Robert Kiyosaki

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about
creating yourself.” – George Bernard Shaw

“By the laws of evolution, it is already in you to
change, all you must do is be willing.” (via

“The positive thinker, sees the invisible, feels
the intangible, and achieves the
impossible.” (via Duanecia)

“To accomplish something you have never
done before, you have to push beyond your
comfort zone, trust your instincts, practice and
believe in yourself.” (via 2nd Time Around)

”A woman is the full circle. Within her is the
power to create, nurture and transform.” –
Diane Mariechild

“Sometimes on the way to a dream, you get
lost and find a better one.” (via Gladys)

“Fear nothing – especially not your talents and
strengths. Be brave enough to show them off.
Be grateful enough to use them.” (via Fefe)

“Everybody ends up somewhere, but few
people end up somewhere on purpose.”-
Craig Groeschel

“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned,
the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme,
and some stories don’t have a clear beginning,
middle and end. Life is about not knowing,
having to change, taking the moment and
making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next.” – Gilda Radner.

“We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve
planned, so as to have the life that is waiting
for us. The old skin has to be shed before the
new one can come.”- Joseph Campbell

“I was always looking outside myself for
strength and confidence but it comes from
within. It is there all the time.” – Anna Freud

Hmm. Very thoughtful!
I love ❤

Deitrick Haddon – Heaven Knows

This song is one of my favorite and i believe one of his best songs. A very simple,AMAZING and POWERFUL  song that explains the happenings in the world today. It’s also a song of encouragement you know. It lets us know that Heaven is fully aware of everything and we need not worry because God is in control and He aint true with us yet. I hope it gets to you like it got to me.

Yet Another Christmas

Another Christmas has come & gone. Last week i said i wasnt in the ‘christmas spirit’ and i think i how why.For as long as i can remember ive celebrated christmas with my family.Basically all my life. Ive gotten to a stage in my life that i think ive outgrown that tradition.it seems like a norm to me now.Mind you, spending christmas with the family isnt a bad thing,im just ‘bored’ of it. I need something exciting, motivating in my life right now. ‘Family’ time sure isnt one of them. I feel its because ive always known what to expect every year. Its been the same routine year in year out & my ‘old-fashioned’ parents don’t know how to spice up.I swear its boring living with them especially when ure been so restricted. I’d rather spend the day with the few friends i ave, @ least i know fun is guaranteed.
This year wasn’t so different only that my mum was recuperating from a serious illness and nobody wanted to stress her the more so we just ate out. Mehn i was so glad. Btw,im a very lazy cook.i’d rather buy than cook.Bad habit yeah i know, that’s just how i am. I definately wasn’t interested in making a feast especially with the hectic day ive had previously.Today for me was just like any other day u know, nothing really special (apart from the gifts doe ;)).I tried to have fun buh @ the end it just became worse.Trust my parents to spoil an already bad day.
I just hope one day, i will again find excitement in Christmas buh for now it’s just another day of the year.
