It’s Christmas!

Hi guys!

Merry Christmas!

It’s been an amazing year. I can’t exactly describe how I feel right now, all I know is I feel much better than the past week. Maybe because I’ve big chopped! No? Yes! I finally gathered courage to chop it off. My hair was a mess and i wasn’t ready to go to the salon until next year. It felt good honestly. I didn’t feel as much guilt as I did previously. Anyways I rock a mini ‘fro now. Pictures coming soon! My NHJ page will also be updated!

So far, Christmas has been so-so. Woke up to make my famous Christmas breakfast. Gosh! Last night was something else. We didn’t shop until evening. I had to rush to the market and then the supermarket and cold room. The stores were almost empty. I was lucky enough to get a few things I’m glad there wasn’t much traffic. And then, I got on Twitter to tweet goodwill messages. Whether I admit it or not, my followers have become more or less like a family so it just felt right. Later on, I lent a helping hand to my mum in the kitchen. Actually I left her there. There was an argument about the style of cooking. I wanted to try something new but she wasn’t so enthusiastic about it. Eventually I left her to suit herself and helped with minor chores. I wasn’t in the mood to argue.

In all, it wasn’t so much of a fun day, just a regular one with extra food. LOL. I’m glad I don’t attend one of those churches that have mandatory Christmas services. Not that I have anything against them. And as usual, I didn’t expect gifts and so I didn’t receive them. No hard feelings.

How did you spend your Christmas?

Love,food and kisses

On Health,Food and Cravings.

Hi.

For as long as I can remember I haven’t had issues with my health except for the bi-monthly malaria which is an norm here in Nigeria. I haven’t had any serious illness. Dysentry has been the height of it all. Sometimes I wonder what kind of immunity I have. I’ve never had measles , chicken pox and all those deadly diseases we were warned against in Biology class. Well, I think I’m just blessed with divine health. That’s the only explanation because I can’t remember the last time I was admitted into a hospital. I’ve only had one major accident which happened in 1998 and ever since then..nada!

Lately my cravings has been on a hike! Coke has suddenly become kyptonite to me except on those very rare occasions. Now it’s yogurt. Hollandia Strawberry Yogurt precisely. I have no idea where that came from. I used to dislike yogurt a lot.. Now I need to take at least one pack a day even when I’m dead broke. I reserve a particular amount somewhere and I can’t take more than a particular quantity at a time or else I’d throw up! Other times it’s Viju Chocolate. Sigh.
I’ve also been skipping dinner a lot. Like I’m not just hungry. Some times I just sleep on an empty stomach if I’m too lazy to get yogurt. Need I forget my cookies consumption. it’s incredible. I don’t understand. Really. This things used to irritate me. PMS maybe? No? Sigh. I’m so happy, cake is not in close proximity to my house. I wonder what would have happened.

I’m really trying to understand these changes going on in my body. Spicy foods are still a no-no. Infact it has almost become an issue in my house. Sometimes when I cook to my taste with very little amount of spices, there’s a clash. Some people want this, others want that and it’s crazy. It sort of makes me feel like an old woman. LOL.

Anyways I’m grateful for good health even when it looks serious, it’s barely serious. As for my cravings, it will pass. Infact it needs to pass, FAST! How can someone just crave foods with raisins or milk and not desire good food. Smh.

Always and Forever.

Fitness anyone?

Hey guys!

So I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately. I wanna switch things up a bit as regards my overall lifestyle.

Work-out routine anyone? Yes? No?

Yeah I know it’s gradually becoming a norm this days. Gym owners are gradually reaping the fruits of their labour. All the years of waiting endlessly for customers have finally paid off. Now I’m not saying I wanna join the bandwagon just because. I just think it’s of absolute importance to keep fit. I wasn’t paying so much attention in Biology class but I know exercise is as important as feeding. Something about metabolism and heart rates. Due to our lifestyle here in Nigeria, we’re used to certain habits that not very healthy. There weren’t as much fitness junkies as they are this days. We are used to eating heavy swallows after 10pm only to bounce back to bed 30 mins later without proper digestion. We have no issues with obesity. It was totally fine. Regular exercise wasn’t even close to our routine.

Now I’m not overweight or obese, I’m totally proportional to my height so I have absolutely no problem in that area. The issue here is fitness. Now in the spirit of revolutions, natural hair is gradually finding it’s feet on here and work-outs are following closely behind or vice versa which ever one it is.

So I’m gonna start with the basics. I’m not really ready to throw any money to any gym. As a DIY junkie, first and foremost, I’m gonna try out a routine myself and if I’m successful enough to get results, then that would be awesome.

1. Walking
I have no problem walking long distances. Not jogging or running but walking whilst been serenaded by some worship songs.

2. Jumping rope
I can’t believe there isn’t anyone in my house atm. SMH. Anyways I’m gonna get one. That to me is like the easiest form of exercise. [ Yes, I’m lazy like that *rme]

This is what I’m gonna be dealing with for now. Push-ups and the rest will come up later on. I’m not trying to get abs. I need to try something I’m comfortable and enthusiastic about. Besides that, I need to incorporate workouts into my daily routine. I’m gonna have kids soon. I need to be able to get back in shape after delivery.

As for foods and whatnot, I also have no issues with that. I try to eat right and avoid junk food as much as possible. Fruits and veggies are a no-brainer. I’ve gradually been able to substitute Gala which I’m also losing interest in for apples. The only ones left are cookies and coke. The good news is my coke addiction is surprisingly wearing out like I’ve had only 1-2 bottles this past week which in my books is a good thing. My cookies obsession is sorta occasional so that can be dealt with. What else? At this point I’m really happy, I’m not a foodie. I’m like the only person that gets irritated by food. Yes. Totally weird. I absolutely hate spicy and overly sweet foods. No, I’m not preggers. I need the pH level to be alkaline and other times balanced. In my books, food is overrated. I dunno, maybe it has to do with my lack of ”exposure”. I haven’t travelled wide enough to judge. I’ve only been fed via books and movies. Whatever the case is, I’m hoping this changes soon or not?

Anyways guys wish me luck!

LOL
